Omar dreams of having four wives. He wants to have at least 20 children. His mother, herself mother of 17 children, shows little reaction when she hears this dream. Omar could not afford four wives anyway she reckons - and that is just as well. The government gives UAE couples who marry 10,000 Dirham (2,000 Euros). After two years of marriage they are also given a villa – however only for the first marriage. We met Omar at a Youth Conference in Sharjah. He wanted to be photographed on a fort which was built to defend the Emirates against the Portuguese.

My name is Omar Said Farahan al Kabi. My City is Fujairah. I am from United Arab Emirates I am 24 years old. I work in Fujairah Museum.

My opinion for the Questions: I want to say to the president of America to George W Bush. Please get out and keep an the people living in peace. The petrol is not important. If you want the petrol, we will get you the petrol. But why you kill the baby to get the petrol? What is the goal to kill this Baby? All the people say that they don’t like America. What is the use? I think now all Arabic an Muslim like America but they don’t like the president and the American soldier. If they go not only in Iraq . Perhaps tomorrow they go to Iran or go to Syria or to Corea or to Egypt. Now in Palestine, in Jerusalem. We want to get peace for Israel but Israel doesn’t want that. What can we do?

Who was Usama Bin Laden before the 11th of September? Who knew him? We knew that here was there somewhere in Afghanistan but who hated him? But then they created a myth. America gathered a huge amount of weapons and he didn’t have more than some very simple weapons. And the human beeing does always feel more with the weak than with the strong. And all the people not only the Muslims – also the Europeans did feel solidarity with Bin Laden. And they carry his picture. Even on the mobile phonens you will find his picture and what is the reason? He is weak. If he were strong than people would see him like they see Saddam. They hate Saddam. And in this aspect one might say: Usama Bin Laden is made in America.
